sbotools-4.0 Release Candidate

There will be at least one release candidate before sbotools-4.0. The most important change is the introduction of sbotool, a text user interface.

Use this archive to build and install sbotools-4.0_RC; the tag is _pghv, which can be changed.

Notes

This fork of sbotools was briefly available as sbotools3 in late 2024. Any sbotools3 users are advised to uninstall sbotools3 before installing sbotools.

sbotools installs a default configuration file to /etc/sbotools/sbotools.conf. Although a sbotools.conf file generated by version 2.7 will be compatible, some of the options are new. Users may want to inspect sbotools.conf.new after building and installing sbotools-3.x for the first time.

Use the key from the homepage (updated 2024-12-15) to verify downloads with gpg.

Obsolete Builds List

This file has been installed to /etc/sbotools/obsolete since sbotools-3.6. It contains a list of scripts that have been added to Slackware -current under different names, or are unneeded build dependencies in Slackware -current. It will be updated as needed.
